Case Study: Custom Storage Solution
Location: Tasmania
Project: Secure, purpose-built storage for heavy transport lashing equipment
The Challenge
A local Tasmanian company approached Tasbulk needing a storage solution that could go well beyond a standard container fit-out. Their heavy transport lashing equipment is not only bulky and difficult to handle, but also extremely weight-intensive, requiring a structure that could safely support and organise it long term.
The client was dealing with inefficient storage, limited visibility of equipment, and time lost locating gear across their depot. They needed a system that would allow their team to quickly identify, access, and return equipment without disrupting daily operations. On top of this, the solution had to withstand demanding site conditions, including constant use, exposure to the elements, and the wear and tear that comes with heavy-duty industrial environments.
Security was another key factor. With high-value equipment stored on site, the client required a setup that would minimise risk while still allowing practical, day-to-day usability for staff.
The Tasbulk Solution
Tasbulk took a hands-on approach from the outset, working closely with the client to fully understand how their equipment was used, handled, and stored on a daily basis. Rather than offering an off-the-shelf option, the solution was purpose-designed to align with their workflow and operational demands.
The container was engineered to handle significant weight loads, with reinforced internal structures ensuring long-term durability without compromising safety. Layout and accessibility were a major focus, with the internal configuration designed to create clear zones for different types of equipment making organisation intuitive and efficient for the team on site.
Visibility was improved through smart material choices and layout planning, allowing staff to easily identify stored items at a glance, particularly at higher levels. At the same time, access points and storage heights were carefully considered to reduce manual handling strain and improve overall usability.
Tasbulk also prioritised security and reliability, integrating robust locking systems and durable hardware to ensure the unit performs consistently in a high-use environment. Every element of the build was selected to deliver a balance of strength, functionality, and longevity resulting in a solution that not only meets the client’s current needs but will continue to perform well into the future.
